Zachary Lerner is an artist on trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, and vocals, and he teaches trumpet, cornet, and euphonium.  He has performed for ESPN and Good Morning Canada, for dignitaries including Presidents and Vice Presidents of the US and other countries, and has been featured performing the US national anthem at Major League Baseball and NCAA games.  Zachary does extensive work as a “one man band” solo or duo act, and posts daily raw/unedited YouTube ‘shorts’ of live performances.  He is currently a mainstay with the acclaimed Ziggy Band and Kosher Klezmer Band, among others.  Zachary often works as a classical musician, performing in principal and section trumpet positions with local and regional orchestras and ensembles.  He got his start with the 101st Airborne Division Band in the US Army, then continued (after going on tour for awhile) to earn a bachelor’s degree from Houston Christian (previously Baptist) University, and a master’s degree in music performance from the University of Houston.  He has done session work for various ensembles, and compiled many of his musical theatre credits below with the renowned Stages Repertory Theatre.  His students have gone on to major in music at colleges such as the University of Texas, the Interlochen School for the Arts, and the Juilliard School of Music.  Some are now professional performers and teachers in their own right.  He has performed and toured with artists including Oystein Baadsvik, Bo Diddley, Bill Evans, Jon Faddis, Jens Lindemann, Hamilton Loomis, Brian Lynch, Diane Schuur, Harry Sheppard, Clark Terry, and others.  His musical theatre credits include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Andrews Brothers, Big Fish, Cinderella, End of the Rainbow, Grey Gardens, Into the Woods, Mack & Mabel, Once Upon a Mattress, Pal Joey, Panto Cinderella, Panto Pinocchio, Panto Sleeping Beauty, Pete ‘n Keely, The Producers, Road Show, Seussical, West Side Story, The Wizard of Oz, and others.
